Nestled in the forest in the Garden Route (35 Yellowwood Road, Ruigtevlei, Sedgefield), a conscious plant-based couple are building up a self sustainable 50ha indigenous farm to be a magical, healing space to retreat from the stresses of life.

Masonwabe Retreats, SedgefieldThey offer self catering accommodation in beautiful cottages, with the option of vegan and vegetarian catering. They also offer a space to do workshops and health retreats. Their passions are to live as close to nature as possible and they love to grow organic food.

They will hold the space for you to come and relax, unwind and reconnect with the beauty of nature and healthy food. You will leave rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. Their motto is to #behappy #behealthy #begrateful #beamazing.

Breakfast options:

R120 per person – includes 1 meal and 1 drink of your choice

Drinks:
Tea (selection of herbals teas); Coffee (Freshly ground organic coffee); Freshly cold pressed juice (juice of the day depending on what’s in season)

Food:
Chia Porridge
Mixture of chia seeds, superfoods and coconut milk to make a raw chocolate porridge topped with seasonal fruit

Fresh Seasonal Fruit Salad
Mixture of freshly cut seasonal fruit topped with superfoods and coconut milk

Bowl of Oats
Cooked oats topped with seasonal fruit, cinnamon, raisins, superfoods and coconut milk
(Gluten free oats available at an additional cost of R15)

Avo Toast
Two slices of homemade bread topped with Avo, homemade sauerkraut and sprouts
(Gluten free option available for additional cost of R15)

Fry Up
Tofu scramble, fried mushrooms, fresh or fried tomatoes, onions/garlic, spinach and fresh avo with freshly baked bread on the side.

(Vegetarian option available with ethically sourced scrambled/fried eggs)

Lunch options:

R120 per person – includes 1 meal and drink of your choice

Meals:
Enchilada Lasagne
A Mix of tomatoes, onions, kidney beans, sweet corn, cumin and a hint of chilli on layers of tortilla wraps. Topped with fresh avocado and sprouts with a side salad.

Bunless Burger
A bean/lentil/sweet potato/sweet corn veggie patty on a freshly made millet flatbread. Topped with fresh avo, pepperdew pesto, gherkins, tomato and sprouts. With sweet potato chips and a salad on the side.

Seasonal Roast Veg Salad
A beautiful selection of fresh greens, topped with cucumber, tomatoes, avocado, olives, sprouts, seeds and seasonal roast vegetables. With a home-made salad dressing on the side.

Dinner options:

R150 per person – includes 1 meal, tea/coffee after meal with a sweet treat. Bring own alcohol as they don’t have a liquor license yet)

Meals:

Spelt macaroni baked in the oven with a potato/butternut “cheese sauce”. With homemade tomato sauce on the side.
