Rain is a rural company, based in Swellendam. Their products are made with passion, love and laughter. It is a company founded on CARE, it has a strong job creation ethic and chose to manufacture handmade products to this end. They believe in caring for the environment, for nature and the precious creatures on our planet. They believe in CARING for your bodies, your skin and your mental state of being.
Rain makes body, bath and shower products along with bathroom decor and bathing accessories, sleepwear, slippers and perfumes.
Africa is an abundant continent but it can also be harsh. Scarcity is a reality for many people. Because Rain insists on handmade items, not only do they create beautiful products, they also create hope by providing employment opportunities for those who face the challenge of poverty. At Rain they mould, stitch, weave, carve, pour, cut, wrap, knit, cover, fill, and bead almost everything in their product range … by hand.
Please beware though that not all their products are vegan – some candle products and soaps contain beeswax and/or honey, including the Aloe and Avo Hand Butter, Aloe & Avo Body Butter, Beeswax & Oats Olive Oil Soap, Honey & Buttermilk Olive Oil Soap.
