A vegan summer dessert
Posted on 5 December 2009
The South African summer is nearly upon us. And what better way to round off a meal than with a summertime fruity dessert, rich in delicious nutrition!
Mango with Sticky Rice is a popular street stall sweet snack right across Thailand. It is incredibly simple to make. Ripe mangos and coconut milk are readily available in the summer from most supermarkets and grocery stores. Sticky rice, or khao niao in Thai, is also known as glutinous rice. If you local supermarket can not supply this then you should be able to find it at health food stores or Asian food stores (most big cities seem to have one or more of these).
So if you crave a new sweet taste and enjoy the flavours of mango and coconut, check out this recipe this summer time. You might just find yourself preparing it quite regularly! …
