Pets and the vegan diet

There are many vegans who disagree with keeping a carnivorous pet as it does not coincide with their choice of diet.

Vegan pet food ranges have slowly started to appear in supermarkets so should vegans raise their pets as vegan? What do you feed your pet and can pets make the cross-over to vegan food?
